The St Mary Cardinal girls started the game on a 6-0 to set the tone in their home against the Howard Tigers on Friday, December 13th. The Cardinals cruised to a 63-24 win.
Howard got no closer than five points, 11-6, in the game. St Mary ended the first quarter with a 19-8 lead. After the Tigers pulled with eight points, 21-13, the Cardinals went on a 15-2 run to finish the half for a 36-15 lead going into halftime. St Mary continued to roll through the third quarter and led 55-24 going into the final quarter. The Cardinals held the Tigers scoreless in the fourth quarter while scoring eight more points.
St Mary shot 37.5% (24-64) overall, 27.8% (10-36) on three-point attempts, and 55.6% (5-9) from the free-throw line. Howard finished the game shooting 26.5% (9-34) overall, 14.3% (2-14) from three-point area, and 36.4% (4-11) from the free-throw line.
Three players finished in double figures. Madala Hanson had 21 points, four rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Jenna Miller added 16 points, five rebounds, three assists, and six steals. Addison Libis had 10 points, two rebounds, and three steals. Maddyn LeBrun had six points and seven rebounds. Brianna Griffin had four points and five rebounds.
