The St Mary Cardinal girls had no trouble earning their 11th win of the season on Friday, February 6th. The Cardinals started the game with an 11-0 run and never trailed in a 50-28 win over the Iroquois/Lake Preston Sharks.
St Mary built a 17-3 lead by the end of the first quarter. Their lead grew to 30-8 at halftime. The Cardinals were on cruise control in the second half. The two teams both scored 20 points each in the final two quarters.
The Cardinals shot 38% (18-48) from the field overall, 32% (6-19) from three-point area, and 44% (8-18) from the free-throw line. Iroquois/Lake Preston finished the game shooting 22% (8-36) overall, 0-8 on three-point shots, and 50% (12-24) from the free-throw line.
Layla Joe Hanson had 11 points, five rebounds, and three steals. Stephenie Geraets finished with 10 points and five steals. Sophia McNaughton had eight points and three assists. Maddyn LeBrun ended with five points, six rebounds, and five steals. Harper Werdel had four points and five rebounds, and Madelyn Klein and Madalyn LaVoy also had four points each.
