Cardinal Girls Fall to #2 Centerville

The Dell Rapids St Mary Cardinal girls hosted the #2 ranked Centerville Tornadoes on Tuesday, February 13th.  The Tornadoes got separation in the second quarter on their way to a 68-40 win.

The Cardinals hung with the Tornadoes in the first quarter and trailed by just eight points, 19-11, at the end of the quarter.  Centerville would then hold St Mary to just seven points in the second quarter and built a 38-18 halftime lead.  They extended the lead to 53-30 by the end of the third quarter.

St Mary shot 34% (15-44) from the field overall, 31% (5-16) on three-point attempts, and 63% (5-8) from the free-throw line.  Centerville shot 48% (29-60) overall, 12% (2-17) from three-point area, and 62% (8-13) from the free-throw line.  The Tornadoes also forced 20 Cardinal turnovers, 13 on steals.

Addison Libis had 13 points.  Brianna Griffin finished with 11 points and two rebounds.  Jenna Miller added eight points, four rebounds, three steals, and two assists.  Maddyn LeBrun had three points and four rebounds.
