The Dell Rapids St Mary Cardinal girls basketball team recognized their lone senior this year, Sierra Klein, in their final regular season home game on Thursday, February 15th. And on senior night, the Cardinals defeated the Bridgewater-Emery Huskies 59-45 to finish the regular season 11-9.
The Cardinals built an eight-point lead, 20-12, by the end of the first quarter. It was a lead they would never lose. They increased the lead to 34-23 by halftime. St Mary added to their lead in the third quarter and held a 49-34 advantage going into the fourth quarter.
The Cardinals shot 34% (22-64) from the field overall, 31% (9-29) on three-point attempts, and 6-7 from the free-throw line. The Huskies finished the game shooting 35% (16-46) overall, 40% (6-15) on three-point shots, and 58% (7-12) from the free-throw line.
Jenna Miller finished with 24 points, two rebounds, and three steals. Addison Libis added 19 points and 11 rebounds. Maddyn LeBrun had eight points, nine rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Brianna Griffin ended with six points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Klein had two points, two rebounds, and three steals.
