Arlington Ends St Mary Girls Winning Streak

The Dell Rapids St Mary Cardinal girls had their seven-game winning streak come to an end on Monday, February 5th.  Arlington used a quick start to earn a 61-42 win.

Arlington started the game on a 14-0 run and held a 27-10 lead at the end of the first quarter.  They forced 12 St Mary turnovers in the opening quarter, nine of those on steals.  From that point forward, St Mary stayed with Arlington, who received votes in the latest Class B polls.  Alrington led 36-18 at halftime.  The lead was 46-30 at the end of the third quarter.

St Mary shot 26% (15-57) from the field overall, 13% (2-16) on three-point attempts, and 67% (10-15) from the free-throw line.  Arlington finished the game shooting 37% (18-49) overall, 16% (3-19) from three-point area, and 71% (22-31) from the free-throw line.

Jenna Miller finished with 16 points, five rebounds, and three assists.  Stephenie Geraets had eight points and four rebounds.  Brianna Griffin added seven points and five rebounds.  Sierra Klein had three points, and Maddyn LeBrun had two points and 10 rebounds.
