Dell Rapids St Mary had their first home game of the season and earned their first win as well on Monday, December 18th. The Cardinals hosted the De Smet Bulldogs, and the Cardinals took the win 46-35.
The two teams finished the first quarter tied 12-12. St Mary took a small, two-point advantage into halftime, 24-22. The Cardinals outscored De Smet 8-5 in the third quarter for a 32-27 lead going into the fourth quarter. St Mary was able to maintain their lead the entire quarter and extended their lead late in the game from the free-throw line.
The Cardinals shot 33% (18-54) overall, 29% (4-14) from three-point area, and 40% (6-15) from the free-throw line. De Smet shot just 23% (11-48) overall from the field, 30% (6-20) on three-point attempts, and 50% (7-14) from the free-throw line.
Jenna Miller had 17 points, three rebounds, and four steals in the game. Maddyn LeBrun finished with nine point and 10 rebounds. Addison Libis added seven points, six rebounds, and three steals. Jodie Klein had five points, three rebounds, and two assists. Brianna Griffin had three points and seven rebounds.
