The Dell Rapids baseball team earned an opening round playoff win over Oldham-Ramona-Rutland 11-0 in five innings on Sunday, May 15th, at Rickeman Field. Trevor Pulscher pitched four innings of no-hit baseball while striking out seven batters. Brett Mogen pitched the final inning and struck out all three hitters to complete the combined no-hitter.
Dell Rapids put up six runs in the first inning and added five more runs in the fourth inning for the win. Ryan Geraets had two singles and three RBI. Matt Gillogly had two singles and two runs scored. Carter Gullickson added a single, an RBI, and two runs. Josh Roemen also had a single, RBI, and two runs scored. Bo Teveldal also had two singles and an RBI. Mogen and Nate McKee also scored runs for Dell Rapids.
Dell Rapids will host the Region 2 Super Regional at a date yet to be determined. Three other teams will join Dell Rapids for the super regional, one more from the Region 2B South division and two teams from the Region 2B north division. Those games have yet to be completed.
