Dell Rapids hadn’t played a full game in over a week, but the bats were hot in Plankinton on Monday, April 18th. Dell Rapids scored 20 runs on 14 hits on their way to a 20-0 win over Mt Vernon/Plankinton. The Dell Rapids defense held Mt Vernon/Plankinton to only one hit, while the offense scored multiple runs in every inning.
Aiden Boechler had three hits, including a home run and a double, along with five RBIs. Jack Henry had two hits, a home run and a triple, and also had five RBIs. Landon Ruesink collected three hits, two of them doubles, and two RBIs. Dylan Mathis had two hits, one a double, and two RBIs. Mason Stubbe also had two hits, one a double, with an RBI. Braden Fersdahl had a double and an RBI. Will Jaton had a hit. Brayden Pankonen, Josh Deknikker, and Treyse Eastman each had an RBI.
Henry pitched the first two innings giving up two walks while striking out five. Ruesink also pitched two innings allowing a hit with four strikeouts. Tad Tjaden pitched an inning and had two strikeouts.
