April 27, 2019 by Matt Larson, Big Sioux Media

DellsBaseballLogo_DRBADell Rapids earned their fifth win of the season and first shutout in a 4-0 win over Tri-Valley on Friday, April 26th.  The game had to change venues to Garretson in what has been a common theme for the high school baseball season this spring.

Keegan Miller led the game with a double and Jay Holm followed with a bunt single to give Dell Rapids two runners on base with no outs.  Eddie Price reached on an error, and Miller scored on the play giving Dell Rapids an early 1-0 lead.  Dell Rapids scored three times in the top of the fourth inning.  The inning began with two errors by the Tri-Valley defense.  Logan Stone drove home a run with an RBI single.  Miller also had an RBI single in the inning.  Austin Henry had an RBI groundout for the third run of the inning and final run of the game.

Jake Rechtenbaugh pitched the complete game for the shutout giving up just three hits and one walk while striking out nine batters.  Miller and Holm led the offense with two hits each.  Stone had the other hit for Dell Rapids.  Miller, Henry, and Stone all had an RBI.

Dell Rapids (5-2) will travel to Humboldt to play West Central on Sunday, April 28th, at 5:00 p.m.
