Colton Legion Shut out by Madison

Colton was held to just two hits against Madison Post 25 on Friday, July 8th.  Madison scored in every inning to win 15-0.  Madison scored three in the first inning, three in the second inning, two in the third, and seven more in the fourth.

Aiden Heitkamp and Zach Powell each had a single.  Heitkamp pitched 1 1/3 innings and allowed six earned runs on five hits and three walks with a strikeout.  Cole Focken pitched 1 2/3 innings and allowed five runs, three earned, on one hit and three walks with three strikeouts.  Riley Carlson allowed four runs, two earned, on three hits and a walk.

Colton Legions Falls to Garretson in Ten Innings

Garretson scored four times in the top of the 10th inning to earn a 9-5 win over Colton Legion on Thursday, July 7th.

Garretson broke a 0-0 tie in the top of the fourth with one run.  They got another run in the top of the fifth and then three more in the top of sixth for a 5-0 lead.  Tri-Valley rallied and tied the game with five runs in the bottom of the fifth.  Nathan Madison had a two-run single. Kaden Egger drew a bases-loaded walk.  Brayden Oyen had an RBI single, and Lawson Louiseau scored on a wild pitch.

The game remained tied 5-5 after seven innings of play and went into extra innings.  Neither team could get a run in the eighth and ninth innings.  Garretson then got a two-run double and two-run single in the 10th inning to go ahead 9-5.  Colton went down in order in the bottom of the inning.

Cole Focken had three hits.  Riley Carlson had two hits, including a double.  Madison finished with a single and two RBIs.  Oyen had a single and an RBI, and Egger added an RBI.  Egger pitched nine of the innings and allowed six runs, all earned, on 11 hits and two walks with three strikeouts.  Noah Haynes pitched one inning and allowed three earned runs on two hits and a walk with a strikeout.

Tri-Valley White 14U Rallies for Win over Baltic

After being held scoreless for the first two innings, Tri-Valley White 14U rallied for an 11-7 road win over Baltic on Wednesday, July 6th.

In the first two innings Tri-Valley was held scoreless, Baltic scored two runs in each of the innings for a 4-0 lead after two innings of play.  Tri-Valley tied the game with four runs in the third.  Cooper Nielson scored a run.  Matthew Cypher had an RBI double.  Bracken Sharpe had an RBI single, and Sullivan Snethen scored on a wild pitch.  Baltic regained the lead, 5-4, with a run in the bottom of the third.

Tri-Valley had another big four-run inning in the top of the fourth, all with two outs.  Nielson had an RBI triple and then later scored.  Blaine Wiezoreck followed with an RBI single, and then later scored for an 8-5 lead.  Baltic got another run in the bottom of the fourth.  Tri-Valley continued the strong offense with two runs in the top of the fifth.  Brady Jewett brought home two runs with a double.  Baltic scored one more time in the bottom of the fifth to cut the lead to 10-7.  Tri-Valley got one more run in the top of the sixth.

Cypher had four hits, one a double, and an RBI.  Sharpe had two hits, including a double, with an RBI.  Jewett had a double and two RBIs.  Nielson finished with a triple and an RBI.  Wiezoreck added a hit and an RBI.  Landen Jensen finished with a hit.  Jensen pitched four innings and allowed three earned runs on four hits and five walks with three strikeouts.  Cypher pitched two innings and allowed four runs, three earned, on two hits and four walks with two strikeouts.

Tri-Valley Maroon 14U Walks off Elkton

Tri-Valley Maroon 14U got a come-from-behind, walk-off win over Elkton at home on Wednesday, July 6th.

Elkton took an early lead with three runs in the top of the first.  Kaiden Bernards scored on an error for Tri-Valley in the bottom of the first.  Elkton got another run in the top of the second, as did Tri-Valley in the bottom of the second.  Jackson Williams had an RBI ground out to make the score 4-2.

Tri-Valley cut the lead down to one with a run in the bottom of the third.  Bernards had an RBI sacrifice fly to make the score 4-3.  Elkton scored another run in the top of the fourth inning.  Tri-Valley then tied the game with two in the bottom of the fourth.  Parker Atwood had an RBI sacrifice hit, and Cole Hendrixson scored on a passed ball, making the score 5-5.

Elkton then built a four-run lead in the next three innings.  They scored one run in the top of the fifth, one run in the sixth, and two more in the top of the seventh for an 8-4 lead heading into the bottom of the seventh.  Gage Egger had a two-run double with no one out to cut the Elkton lead to 8-6.  Egger later scored on a passed ball, and Atwood had an RBI single with one-out to tie the game 9-9.  After Tri-Valley held Elkton scoreless in the top of the eighth, Myles DeWitt scored the winning run on an error.

Egger had two hits, one a double, and two RBIs.  Atwood also had two hits and two RBIs.  Dylan Christensen and DeWitt both had singles.  Bernards and Williams each had an RBI.

Denton Bicknase pitched 1 2/3 innings an allowed four unearned runs on two hits and two walks with three strikeouts.  Tristen Bunde pitched 2 1/3 innings and allowed an unearned run on a hit with five strikeouts.  Egger also pitched 2 1/3 innings and allowed two runs, one earned, on three hits with three strikeouts.  Treyson Ricther pitched 1 2/3 innings and allowed two earned runs on two hits and a walk with five strikeouts.

Tri-Valley White 14U Wins Back and Forth Game Against Elkton

Tri-Valley White won a high-scoring, back and forth game against Elkton on Friday, July 1st.  The two teams combined for 33 runs and 20 hits with Tri-Valley taking the home victory, 20-13.

Elkton scored first with a run in the top of the first, but Tri-Valley tied the game in the bottom of the inning when Brady Jewett scored.  Elkton then had a four-run top of the second.  After holding Tri-Valley scoreless in the bottom of the second, they added another run in the top of the third for a 6-1 lead.

Tri-Valley took their first lead of the game with a six-run bottom of the third.  Blaine Wiezoreck had the only RBI in the inning as several runners scored on wild pitches and passed balls.  Elkton bounced back with two runs in the top of the fourth to regain the lead 7-6.  Tri-Valley took the lead for good in the bottom of the fourth with four runs.

After Tri-Valley held Elkton scoreless in the top of the fifth, they put the pressure on with five more runs.  Bracken Sharpe, Jewett, Cooper Nielson, and Austin Puetz all scored in the inning to make the score 16-8.  Elkton tried to rally in the sixth inning, getting three runs.  But once more Tri-Valley responded, this time with four more runs.  Sullivan Snethen, Noah Eggert, Landen Jensen, and Landon McGill all scored for Tri-Valley.  Elkton got their final two runs in the top of the seventh.

Wiezoreck had two hits and two RBIs.  Puetz had two hits and an RBI.  Matthew Cypher finished with three singles.  Jewett, Sharpe, Eggert, and Brenner Struiksma all had singles.  Wiezoreck pitched four innings and allowed five runs, four earned, on four hits and four walks with six strikeouts.  Snethen pitched two innings and allowed six runs, two earned, on three hits and a walk with four strikeouts.  Jewett pitched one inning and allowed two earned runs on two hits and three walks with one strikeout.

Madison Maroon Gets Early Lead to Beat Tri-Valley Maroon 14U

Madison Maroon got the lead right away in the first inning and rode that to a 12-2 win over Tri-Valley Maroon on Friday, July 1st.

Madison scored four times in the top of the first inning.  They would get two more runs in the top of the third, one in the fifth, and then five more in the top of the sixth for a 12-0 lead.  Tri-Valley got both of their runs in the bottom of the sixth.  Parker Hemme had an RBI triple, and Denton Bicknase reached on an error that scored Hemmer.  With only two runs scored in the inning, the game ended on the 10-run rule.

Tri-Valley was held to just two hits in the game.  Hemme had a triple and an RBI, and Owen Bunde had a single.  Tristen Bunde pitched 5 1/3 innings and allowed 11 runs, but only four earned, on nine hits and one walk with four strikeouts.  Jackson Williams pitched 2/3 of an inning and allowed an earned run on two hits and a walk with a strikeout.

Canova Cruises Past Colton Legion

Canova scored in every inning but one in a bit 19-1 win over Colton Legion in Colton on Thursday, June 30th.

Colton was held to just three hits in the game, while Canova scored four runs in the first, five in the third, one in the fourth, and nine runs in the fifth.  Kaden Egger had an RBI ground out in the bottom of the second for the only run for Colton.

Noah Haynes, Cole Focken, and Connor Christensen all had singles in the game.  Egger had an RBI.  Aiden Heitkamp pitched 2 1/3 innings and allowed five earned runs on four hits and two walks.  Lawson Louiseau pitched 1 1/3 innings and allowed seven earned runs on five hits and three walks with one strikeout.  Nathan Madison pitched 2/3 of an inning and allowed four earned runs on six hits.  Zach Powell also pitched 2/3 of an inning and allowed three runs on two hits and a walk with a strikeout.

Tri-Valley 16U Scores Extra Inning Win over Flandreau

Tri-Valley 16U scored four runs in the top of the eighth for a 10-6 road win over Flandreau on Thursday, June 30th.

Carter Sorenson drove home the first run for Tri-Valley on a single in the top of the first.  Flandreau took the lead in the bottom of the inning with three runs.  They added another in the bottom of the second and led 4-1 after two innings of play.

Hunter Foster had a two-run single in the top of the third to pull Tri-Valley within a run, 4-3.  Tri-Valley would tie the game in the top of the fifth on an RBI double by Javier Mendoza.  Flandreau regained the lead with a run in the bottom of the sixth.  Cody Lofswold and Sorenson both scored in the top of the seven to give Tri-Valley a 6-5 lead.  Fandreau took advantage of an error in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game 6-6 and force extra innings.

Alex Wingen broke the tie with an RBI single in the top of the eighth.  Sorenson added a three-run double with two outs to push the lead to 10-6 for Tri-Valley.  Flandreau went down in order in the bottom of the eighth.

Wingen had three hits, one a double, and an RBI.  Sorenson had two hits, one a double, and four RBIs.  Everett Althoff and Lofswold both had two hits.  Foster finished with a single and three RBIs.  Mendoza had a double and an RBI.  Levi Kretzschmar and Benjamin Myhre both had a single.

Cyrus Kirstein pitched five innings and allowed four runs, one earned, on four hits and a walk with five strikeouts.  Sorenson pitched two innings and allowed two runs, one earned, on three hits and a walk with three strikeouts.  Wingen pitched one inning.

Tri-Valley White 14U Loses Slugfest with Flandreau

Tri-Valley White 14U and Flandreau combined for 23 total hits and 33 runs in Flandreau on Wednesday, June 29th.  Flandreau took the win 22-11.

Flandreau never trailed in the game as they scored eight times in the bottom of the first.  Tri-Valley got a run in the top of the second, but Flandreau scored three more times in the bottom of the inning for an 11-1 lead.  Tri-Valley cut into the lead in the third and fourth innings.  They scored three runs in the third and four in the fourth, while Flandreau got a single run in each of those innings.  Tri-Valley trailed 13-8 heading into the fifth inning.

Tri-Valley cut the lead to 13-9 with a run in the top of the fifth, but Flandreau scored five times in the bottom of the inning.  After two runs by Tri-Valley in the top of the sixth, Flandreau got four more runs in the bottom of the inning.

Blaine Wiezoreck had three hits, one a double, and two RBIs.  Sullivan Snethen and Noah Eggert each had a hit and an RBI.  Cooper Nielson had a double, and Bracken Sharpe finished with an RBI.  Brenner Struiksma pitched 3 2/3 innings and allowed five earned runs on four hits and five walks with a strikeout.  Brady Jewett pitched 1 2/3 innings and allowed nine runs, seven earned, on nine hits and a walk with three strikeouts.

Tri-Valley Maroon 14U Crushes Dell Rapids Navy

Tri-Valley Maroon 14U scored 18 unanswered runs in the middle innings of an 18-8 win over Dell Rapids Navy in Dell Rapids on Wednesday, June 29th.

Dell Rapids scored the first four runs in the bottom of the first, but it was all Tri-Valley for the next three innings.  They scored three runs in the top of the second, five in the third, and then had a big 10-run fourth inning to lead 18-4.  Dell Rapids scored four times in the bottom of the fifth, but Tri-Valley stopped the rally to end the game on the 10-run rule.

Nine different Tri-Valley players got a hit in the game.  Gage Egger had three hits, including a double, and three RBIs.  Owen Bunde had three hits and an RBI.  Treyson Richer, Parker Atwood, and Parker Hemme all had two hits and three RBIs.  Mason Hemme finished with two hits, one a triple, and two RBIs.  Kaiden Bernards added a triple and RBI.  Dylan Christensen and Tristen Bunde both had a single.  Denton Bicknase pitched all five innings and allowed eight runs, three earned, on 10 hits and three walks with three strikeouts.
