The Baltic high school baseball team hosted Sioux Falls Christian and suffered an 11-0 loss on Tuesday, May 5th.
Sioux Falls Christian scored four times in the top of the first inning and added another run in the top of the second for a 5-0 lead. After a scoreless third inning, they scored four times in the top of the fourth and two more in the fifth. The game ended on the 10-run rule after the bottom of the fifth inning.
Baltic was held to just three hits total. Elias Oakley, Laken Kortemeyer, and Brody Hansen all had one hit each. Hansen pitched 2 1/3 innings and allowed five runs, three earned, on three hits and five walks with a strikeout. Cale Roach tossed 1 2/3 innings and allowed two unearned runs on two hits and two walks with two strikeouts. Jackson Goehring piched 1/3 of an inning and allowed four runs, three earned, on five walks. Kortemeyer threw 2/3 of an inning.
