Baltic Baseball Can’t Hold Early Lead Dakota Valley

The Baltic high school baseball team couldn’t hold an early lead and fell to Dakota Valley 15-5 on Monday, April 20th.

Isaac Oakley had an RBI sacrifice fly in the top of the first inning to give Baltic a 1-0 lead.  Brody Hansen had an RBI double, and Cale Roach drove home two with a single in the top of the second to put Baltic in front 4-0.  Dakota Valley would tie the game, 4-4, with four runs in the bottom of the third.

Baltic went back in front, 5-4, in the top of the fourth on an RBI ground out by Aaron Nordbye.  The lead was unfortunately short-lived.  Dakota Valley pushed seven runs across the plate in the bottom of the inning to go ahead 11-5.  They would add four more runs in the bottom of the fifth to end the game on the 10-run rule.

Hansen had a double with two RBIs.  Cale Roach ended with a single and two RBIs.  Elias Oakley and Jackson Goehring both had a single.  I. Oakley ended with an RBI.  I. Oakley also pitched two innings and allowed two earned runs on four walks with three strikeouts.  Nordbye pitched an inning and gave up three runs, one earned, on four walks.  Goehring tossed 1 1/3 innings giving up five runs, three earned, on a hit and three walks.  Brody Hansen allowed five runs, four earned, on a hit and two walks.
