The Baltic 17U baseball team won big twice in their last three games. They defeated Flandreau 11-3 on Saturday, June 21st and Elkton 18-0 on Tuesday, June 24th. West Central Royal Blue defeated Baltic 20-1 on Sunday, June 22nd.
Baltic 11, Flandreau 3
Three big innings helped Baltic to an 11-3 win. They got three in the bottom of the firsts and three more in the second for a 6-0 lead. Flandreau scored twice in the top of the third, but Baltic added five more for an 11-2 lead. Flandreau scored one more time in the top of the fifth.
Jackson Goehring had three hits and two RBis. Isaac Oakley added two hits and two RBIs. AJ Frunewaldt added a hit with two RBIs. Joey Grunewaldt had a triple and an RBI. Cale Roach and Gavin Skotvold each had a hit and an RBI. Alex Hockenberry added a hit. Laken Kortemeyer pitched three innings and allowed two earned runs on five hits and four walks with six strikeouts.
West Central Royal Blue 20, Baltic 1
West Central had a run in the top of the first and another in the top of the third fro an early 2-0 lead. They scored seven more times in the top of the fifth to extend the lead to 9-0. West Central then scored 11 times in the top of the sixth. Baltic scored their only run in the bottom of the sixth.
Oakley had a hit. Braxten Allen had an RBI.
Baltic 18, Elkton 0
Oakley and Aarono Nordbye combined to throw a three-inning no-hitter against Elkton on Tuesday. Oakley pitched two innings and struck out three batters. Nordbye pitched one inning and had two strikeouts.
Baltic scored three times in the first, five in the second, and 10 in the third to end the game on the 15-run rule. Allen had two hits, one a double, and two RBIs. Oakley and Skotvold both had a single and three RBIs each. Ryder Siemonsma had a hit and an RBI. Goehring and Roach both had two RBIs each. AJ Grunewaldt, J. Grunewaldt, and Jack Wiseman all had one RBI each.
