The Baltic 16U team had two games on Wednesday, July 24th. They played Canton and Flandreau, winning one and losing one.
Baltic 7, Canton 0
Joey Grunewaldt threw all five innings and allowed just one hit and two walks while striking out six in the 7-0 victory. Baltic scored single runs in the first three innings for a 3-0 lead. They then had a four-run fourth inning to get the win.
Jackson Goehring had two hits, including a triple, and two RBIs. AJ Grunewaldt had two hits and an RBI. J. Grunewaldt also had two hits. Kellen Artz finished with a double and two RBIs. Aaron Nordbye had a single and an RBI. Cale Roach added a single.
Flandreau 14, Baltic 9
A big fourth-inning rally helped Flandreau to a win over Baltic. Flandreau scored a run in the first and two in the second for a 3-0 lead. Baltic scored four times in the bottom of third for a 4-3 lead. The lead didn’t last as long as hoped. Flandreau scored nine times in the top of the fifth to go back in front 12-4. Baltic got two runs ini the bottom of the fourth to cut the lead in half 12-6. Flandreau got two more in the top of the fifth, while Baltic scored three times.
Nordbye had two hits, one a double, and two RBIs. Goehring, Isaac Oakley, and Dylan Runestad all had a single and an RBI each. A. Grunewaldt and Artz both had a single.
