River Dawgs Take Win over Valley Rats

The Baltic River Dawgs scored three runs late in the game for a 5-3 win over the Valley Rats on Thursday, July 11th.

Valley scored first taking a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning.  Baltic grabbed the lead in the top of the fourth with two runs.  Valley would tie the game, 2-2, in the bottom of the sixth.  The River Dawgs then took the lead for good, 4-2, with a two-run seventh inning.  They extended the lead to 5-2 with a run in the eighth.  Valley scored one more time in the bottom of the eighth.

Dalton Garbers had two hits, one a double, and an RBI.  Noah S. had a double and an RBI.  Ty Schafer finished with a single and an RBI.  Tristian Fitzsimmons and Noah Hammond both had a hit, while Matt White had an RBI.  White pitched seven innings and allowed two earned runs on three hits and four walks with 13 strikeouts.  Schafer pitched two innings and allowed an earned run on two hits and two walks with three strikeouts.
