The Baltic Bulldog football team snapped a 42-game losing streak with a 47-20 road win over the Sisseton Redmen on Friday, September 18th. The last win for the Bulldogs came against Parker on August 20th, 2021.
The Bulldogs looked great from the start of the game. Baltic scored on the opening drive of the game. With 9:53 on the clock, Brechen Frederick scored on a two-yard run to put the Bulldogs ahead 6-0.. Aaron Nordbye found the end zone with 4:20 remaining in the first quarter on a three-yard run.
Sisseton got on the board a minute and a half later. With 2:50 to go, the Redmen scored on a 71-yard run to cut the lead in half, 12-6. Baltic was not done with putting points on the board in the first quarter. Elias Oakley scored on a 32-yard touchdown run with 1:28 remaining. The two-point conversion was good to extend the lead to 20-6.
Baltic added two more scores in the second quarter. Nordbye had his second touchdown on a nine-yard run with 6:45 remaining in the half. Bryce Campbell added a one-yard touchdown run with 2:46 to go. Baltic made one of two two-point conversion attempts to take a 34-6 lead into halftime.
Neither team scored in the third quarter, but Baltic scored just 0:14 into the fourth quarter. Frederick had his second touchdown on an eight-yard run to extend the lead to 40-6. Laken Kortemeyer added a 55-yard touchdown pass to Campbell with 7:48 to play in the game. Campbell also made the extra point to make the score 47-6. Sisseton added two touchdowns late in the game. They had an 81-yard touchdown run with 6:52 to go and an 11-yard touchdown pass with 0:35 for the final score or 47-20.
