A touchdown in the closing seconds gave the Baltic Bulldogs a Homecoming win and their second in a row on Friday, September 25th. The Bulldogs defeated the Estelline/Hendricks Redhawks 26-20.
Brechen Frederick put the Bulldogs ahead 6-0 with 0:11 to go in the opening quarter on a two-yard touchdown run. Neither team scored in the second quarter, and the Bulldogs led 6-0 at halftime.
Henry Anderson connected with Elias Oakley on a 48-yard touchdown pass with 5:28 to go in the third quarter. A made two-point conversion made the score 14-0. Anderson scored again the Bulldogs on a 13-yard run with 8:05 to play. The Bulldogs led 20-0. That’s when things started to turn for the Redhawks.
Estelline/Hendricks scored on an 85-yard touchdown run with 7:36 remaining. They made the two-point conversion to cut the lead to 20-8. The defense scored with 3:17 to play on a 25-yard fumble recovery returned for a touchdown for a 20-14 score. The Redhawk defense got another fumble, and with 2:59 to play in the game, Estelline/Hendricks scored on a 20-yard run to tie the game 20-20.
The Bulldogs would drive down the field late in the game. Anderson would take off on a five-yard run and score the game-winning touchdown with just 0:05 remaining in the game. The touchdown gave Baltic the 26-20 win.
