Bulldog Boys Suffer Tough Loss in Madison to End Regular Season

The Baltic Bulldog boys basketball team ended their regular season with a tough road loss in Madison Friday, February 28th.  Madison built a double-digit lead in the third quarter and held for a 41-49 win.

Baltic had their largest lead of the game at four points in the first quarter.  Madison, however, ended the first quarter leading 9-6.  Baltic would outscore Madison 7-1 in the second quarter for a 13-10 halftime lead.  Offenses got going in the second half.  Madison would build a 10-point lead in the third quarter, but Baltic pulled within two, 32-30, going into the fourth quarter.  Madison was able to hold off Baltic to secure the two-point win.

Baltic shot 40.4% (19-47) from the field overall, 29% (4-14) from three-point area, and 41% (7-17) from the free-throw line.  Madison shot 39.6% (19-48) overall, 11% (2-19) on three-point attempts, and 73% (11-15) from the free-throw line.

Ben Erickson had 16 points, six rebounds, and two steals.  Dylan Runestad finished with 12 points and two assists.  Trevor Cuperus added 10 points and five rebounds.  Kellen Artz ended with seven points  and nine rebounds.
