The Baltic Bulldog boys scored the final eight points to get a 46-39 win over the Garretson Blue Dragons in the opening round of the Region 3A Tournament in Baltc on Thursday, March 6th.
The two teams traded leads in the first quarter, but Baltic held a 9-7 lead at the end of the quarter. The Bulldogs opened the second quarter on a 6-0 run for a 15-7 advantage. They would hold a 19-14 lead at halftime.
Garretson cut the lead to four points, 26-22, but the Bulldogs pushed the lead back to seven points, 38-31, going into the fourth quarter. The Blue Dragons went on an 8-0 run to take a 39-38 lead. Baltic responded by scoring the final eight points for the 46-39 win.
The Bulldogs shot 40% (19-48) overall, 1-12 from three-point area, and 7-8 from the free-throw line. Garretson finished the game shooting 35% (16-46) overall, 25% (4-16) on three-point shots, and 3-5 from the free-throw line.
Trevor Cuperous finished with 14 points and eight rebounds. Ben Erickson had 11 points, seven rebounds, four steals, and two assists. Dylan Runestad also had 11 points with four rebounds and two assists. Kellen Artz ended with eight points, 11 rebounds, and two assists.
