The Baltic Bulldog boys played their second game in as many days at America’s Hometown Basketball Classic in Madison on Saturday, January 4th. The Bulldogs fell to the Luverne Cardinals 74-53.
Luverne took a four-point lead by the end of the first quarter, 18-14. The Cardinals increased their lead to double-digits, 38-28, by halftime. Baltic got the lead into single digits, 50-41, with 1:40 to play in the third quarter. The Cardinals scored the final two points for a 52-41 lead going into the fourth quarter. Luverne then scored 22 points in the final quarter to help them to the win.
Dylan Runestand had 22 points and four rebounds. Ben Erickson added 14 points, three assists, and two rebounds. Trevor Cuperus had seven points. Kellen Arts ended with six points, six rebounds, and three assists.
