Baltic Boys Hold off Deubrook at Entringer Classic

The Baltic Bulldog boys basketball team was able to hold off the Deubrook Area Dolphins for a 53-45 win at the Entringer Classic in Brookings on Saturday, December 28th.

Batlic opened the game with a 12-2 scoring advantage throughout the entire first quarter.  That first quarter advantage kept Baltic in front start to finish, but the Dolphins made a couple of runs in the game.  One of those runs came in the second quarter.  Deubrook outscored Baltic 17-13 to cut the lead to 25-19 by halftime.  The Bulldogs were able to extend their lead in the third quarter.  They outscored the Dolphins 14-8 in the quarter to take a 39-26 lead into the fourth quarter.

The Bulldogs shot 44% (20-45) overall, 44% (7-16) from three-pint area, but just 6-14 from the free-throw line.  Deubrook finished the game shooting 27% (18-68) overall, 18% (6-34) from three-point area, and 3-4 from the free-throw line.

Three Bulldog players finished in double figures.  Dylan Runestad, named the games MVP, had 17 points and six rebounds.  Ben Erickson added 15 points, eight rebounds, and two assists.  Kellen Artz ended with 10 point, even rebounds, and five assists.  Cooper Garry had two points, but seven rebounds, three assists, and three steals.
