The Baltic Bulldog volleyball team advanced to the SoDak 16 after a Region 3A win over Garretson on Thursday, November 7th. The Bulldogs defeated the Blue Dragons in straight sets by scores of 25-13, 25-15 and 26-24.
Baltic started the opening set with a quick 6-1 run. They extended the lead to 10-2 and then 13-3. The lead continued to grow to 21-9 before the Bulldogs won 25-13. The second set started a little closer. Baltic led 4-2, and then they went on a run to extend the lead to 10-4. The Bulldogs eventually led by 10 points, 18-8. Garretson cut the lead to 21-14, but Baltic finished the second set with a 4-1 run for a 25-15 win.
The Blue Dragons broke a 1-1 tie for a 5-3 lead to start the third set. Baltic tied the score 7-7 and then took a 10-9 lead. The Bulldogs to continued to hold slim leads of 13-11, 15-14, and 18-17. Baltic would go on a 3-0 run to go ahead 21-17. The Blue Dragons would get the score tied 23-23. After a 24-24 tie, Baltic scored the final two points for a 26-24 win.
The Bulldogs will play Sioux Falls Christian on Tuesday, November 11th. The winner will advance to the State A Tournament.
