The Baltic girls basketball team lost the “Battle of the Bulldogs” at the Entringer Classic against De Smet on Saturday, December 16th. De Smet built a big lead in the first quarter and cruised to a 67-32 victory.
Baltic found themselves trailing 24-9 after the end of the first quarter. The lead for De Smet grew to 43-20 by halftime. The score was 60-27 at the end of the third quarter.
Baltic shot 34% (13-38) overall in the game, 18% (2-11) on three-point attempts, and 4-6 from the free-throw line. De Smet finished the game shooting 46% (26-57) overall, 50% (8-16) from three-point area, and 58% (7-12) from the free-throw line. De Smet forced 25 turnovers, 17 of those on steals.
Meredith Larson finished with 13 points, two rebounds, and two assists. Baylee Breece added 10 points, six rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Laci Hillman had four points and two rebounds, and Holland Kortemeyer had three points and three rebounds. Caitlyn Pickett had a team-high seven rebounds.
