The Baltic Bulldog girls basketball team cut a 16-point deficit in half in the third quarter, but their rally was stopped. The Sioux Valley Cossacks won 59-31 on Thursday, December 14th.
Sioux Valley built a 14-point lead by the end of the first quarter, 21-7. The Bulldogs were able to keep pace with the Cossacks for the most part in the second quarter, but trailed 32-16 at halftime. Baltic scored the first eight points of the third quarter to cut the lead to eight points, 32-24, but Sioux Valley finished the quarter on a 15-3 run for a 47-27 lead. The Cossacks then held Baltic to just four points in the fourth quarter.
Harper Kortemeyer finished with 13 points and four rebounds. Caitlyn Pickett added six points and four rebounds. Baylee Breece added five points, five rebounds, and two assists. Meredith Larson had four points and four rebounds.
