Dakota Valley used a couple of big innings to get an 18-1 win over Baltic on Wednesday, July 12th. Baltic was held to just three hits in the game, and the defense committed six errors in the game.
Dakota Valley scored five times in the top of the first inning and two more in the second for a 7-0 lead. The score stayed 7-0 until the top of the sixth. Dakota Valley added three more runs in the top of the inning. Baltic got their only run in the bottom of the sixth when Gunner Schultz scored on a passed ball. Dakota Valley added eight more runs in the top of the seventh.
G. Schutlz, Riley Schultz, and Tate Fuecht each had a hit in the game. Matt Muston pitched one inning and allowed five runs, two earned, on a hit and three walks. Fuecht pitched two innings and allowed two earned runs on two hits and three walks with two strikeouts. R. Schutlz also pitched two innings and walked one with four strikeouts. Riley Dobbins threw 1 1/3 innings and allowed seven runs, six earned, on three hits and six walks. Jose Valadez pitched 2/3 of an inning and allowed four unearned runs on three walks with one strikeout.
