The Baltic legion baseball team rallied past Elk Point-Jefferson at home on Friday, June 30th. Baltic came from behind for an 8-7 victory.
Elk Point-Jefferson scored the first five runs of the game. They scored two in the first, two in the second, and another in the top of the third. Baltic rallied to tie the game with five runs in the bottom of the third. Beau Keith had an RBI double, Beau Breece had an RBI single, Jose Valadez reached on an error that scored two runs, and Tayden Hansen had an RBI single.
Elk Point-Jefferson regained the lead with a run in the top of the fourth, but Baltic went ahead after two runs scored on an error for Baltic in the bottom of the inning. Matt Muston had an RBI sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth to extend the Baltic lead to 8-6. Elk Point-Jefferson got one more run in the top of the seventh, but their rally was stopped there.
Keith and Hansen both finished with two hits each, each also having a double, and each having an RBI. Breece added a single and an RBI. Riley Schultz, Braxton Allen, and Tate Fuecht all had one hit each. Muston and Gunner Schultz each had an RBI. R. Schultz pitched three innings and allowed five runs, three earned, on four hits and two walks with four strikeouts. Fuecht pitched four innings and allowed two earned runs on three hits and five walks with three strikeouts.
