Baltic Track Returns Plenty of Experience

The Baltic Bulldog track teams will return plenty of experience for the 2023 season.  The girls team returns seven athletes that qualified for state a year ago, and the boys team will return four state qualifiers.

Sophomores Daynica Witzel, Ava Tiahrt, Addison Geigle, Claire Berg, and Elizabeth Hockenberry, and freshmen Hailey Tiahrt and Sadey Holt are the returning state qualifiers this season.  They will help lead the team with junior Baylee Breece, sophomores Holland Kortmeyer and Maiya Fredrickson, and freshman Meredith Larson.

“Our girls are a low-numbered team, but have great experience.  Most of them have been competing varsity since middle school.  We will be competitive in all events they are a part of,” said head coach Rory LaValliere.

The boys team returns state qualifiers senior John Gronewold and juniors Payton Anderson, Alex Langner, and Shae Fiala.  Senior Isaac Weeman, juniors Jackson Westerbur, Bryson Graff, and Mark Ditter, sophomore Braxten Allen, and freshmen Dylan Runestad, Ben Erickson, Jackson Goehring, Kellen Artz, and Gohen McGuire will also help lead the boys team this season.

“Our boys have 30 team members with a mix of experience and depth.  We will be able to fill and score in every event giving us a great opportunity to compete for meet wins,” added LaValliere.
