The Alcester-Hudson Cubs defeated the Dell Rapids St Mary Cardinals in straight sets in the season opener on Thursday, August 24th, at Dell Rapids St Mary High School. The Cubs won by scores of 25-21, 25-10, 25-15.
Cassie Mullaney led the team with seven kills. Maddie Schwebach finished with six kills, and Rhiannon Glazier and Veronica Beck each had five kills. Schwebach led the team with four blocks, and Adyn Heinricy finished with 15 digs. Cassy Geraets had 16 set assists, while Ella Heinitz finished with 10 assists.
The Cardinals will play in the Estelline Tournament on Saturday, August 26th.
