The Elkton-Lake Benton Elks ended the three-match winning streak of the Dell Rapids St Mary Cardinals on Thursday, September 20th in Elkton. The Elks defeated the Cardinals in straight sets by scores of 25-12, 25-17, 25-22.
Cassie Mullaney led the team in kills with seven in the match. Both Maddie Schwebach and Veronica Beck had six kills each. Tyra Harrington finished with two kills. Ella Heinitz had 18 set assists, while Paige Bunkers had nine set assists. Schwebach tallied two blocks defensively for St Mary. Carly Maxwell played a solid back row with 13 digs. Macie Brown added 10 digs. Courtney Brown had seven digs.
St Mary (6-6) will travel to Baltic to play the Bulldogs on Tuesday, September 25th.
