After playing the first week of the season on the road, the Dell Rapids St Mary Cardinal volleyball team won their first home match of the season over the Mitchell Christian Golden Eagles on Thursday, August 30th. The Cardinals won by set scores of 25-20, 26-24, 18-25, 27-25.
Veronica Beck led the team with nine kills. Cassie Mullaney and Maddie Schwebach both had eight kills each. Ella Heinitz added three kills. Heinitz also had 39 set assists in the match. Carly Maxwell led the defense with 12 digs. Courtney Brown added seven digs. Heinitz and Mullaney both had three digs. Beck also led the team in ace serves with five on the night.
The Cardinals (3-4) will host Canistota on Thursday, September 6th.
