Early Lead Sets Pace for Quarrier Boys Win

NewDRLogoThe Dell Rapids Quarrier boys basketball team got out to a big lead early and cruised to a 66-39 win over the Baltic Bulldogs on Monday, December 18th, in Baltic.

Dell Rapids got out to a 21-7 lead in the first quarter and outscored Baltic in every quarter but the final one for the win.  The Quarriers lead 42-15 at halftime and 56-23 at the end of the third quarter.

The Quarriers shot 49% from the field, 33% from three-point range, and 56% from the free-throw line.  Dell Rapids had a total of 31 team rebounds, 15 team assists, nine team steals, and only turned the ball over 10 times.

Mason Schmidt led the scoring attack with 17 points.  Jeffrey Schuch had 14 points along with 10 rebounds and five assists.  Carson Rentz finished with 11 points, three assists, and three steals.  Logan Heim had nine points and a team-high 11 rebounds.

Dell Rapids (2-1) will play Sioux Valley on Saturday, December 30th, at the Entringer Classic in Brookings for their next game.  That game can be seen on Big Sioux Media.
