Thomas AllenThomas A. Allen, 88, of Dell Rapids, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2013 at the Dells Nursing and Rehab Center. His Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 3, 2014 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Dell Rapids. Interment will be in the St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon on Thursday, January 2, 2014 with the Christian Wake Service beginning at 4:00 p.m. at Kahler Funeral Home. To leave condolences please visit www.kahlerfh.com.

Thomas A. Allen was born on December 10, 1925 at Dell Rapids, SD, the son of Tom and Regina Allen. He grew up in the Dell Rapids area and attended country school. He worked on the family farm and entered the I.O.O.F. Home in 1993. He lived there until it closed, at which time he became a resident of the Dell Rapids Nursing and Rehab Center.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and two brothers.

He is survived by his brothers, Lawrence and Leonard of Dell Rapids and his sister, Anna Mae Miiller of Phoenix, AZ and his many nieces and nephews.
