Andrew J. Hinricher, 94, of Dell Rapids died Thursday, February 4, 2016 at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 AM Friday, February 12, 2016 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Dell Rapids. Visitation will begin at 4:00 PM Thursday with a Wake Service at 5:00 PM at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Dell Rapids. On-Line Condolences may be left at Minnehaha Funeral Home.

Andrew was born November 15, 1921 in Granville, Iowa to parents Frank and Helen (Ricestoffer) Hinricher. As a small child he moved with his family to a farm near Colman. He entered the United States Navy in 1945 and served during World War II until his honorable discharge in 1946.

Andrew returned to Dell Rapids, where he worked for Ed Burkhart, Shorty Weiland and later for WYCO Construction.

He enjoyed putting together puzzles and playing cards with his friends. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.

Grateful for having shared his life are a sister, Evelyn Weinacht, Dell Rapids; three brothers, Robert (Charlotte) Hinricher, Dell Rapids; Elmer (Elizabeth) Hinricher, Flandreau; Omar (Bernice) Hinricher, Colorado, numerous nieces and nephews and a special friend Loretta Thompson, Dell Rapids. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Norbert.
