Richard Dressen

Dressen, obit photoRichard “Dick” Dressen passed away Monday, December 3, 2018 under the care of home hospice. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 AM Friday, December 7, 2018 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Dell Rapids. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Minnehaha Funeral Home in Dell Rapids.

Dick was born February 26, 1942 to parents John, Sr. and Gertrude (Dubbelde) Dressen. He was married to Nina Robson on June 28, 1968.

Dick was proud of his service in the National Guard from 1964 to 1970. He worked for Hale Mfg. before being employed by the City of Dell Rapids for many years. After he retired he drove pilot truck for his nephew, Bob hauling wind towers.

Dick loved to hunt and fish with his brother, John, Jr. He traveled to all of the states but Delaware. He was an avid bowler and went to many bowling tournaments. After retirement he took up golfing with his brothers and loved watching his grandsons play sports.

Dick is survived by his wife, Nina, Dell Rapids; daughter, Valerie (Steve) Wolford, Rushmore, MN; sons, Rick and Ryan (Heather Froke), Dell Rapids; grandsons, Jordan, Tyler, and Carson Wolford; bonus grandchildren, Lily and Logan; sister, Armella George, Sioux Falls; brothers, Leonard, Dale (Dona), John (Jane), Dell Rapids, and Lyle (Carol), Sioux Falls as well as many nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gene; brother-in law, Cyril George; sister-in-law, Mary Dressen; nephew, Bob and nieces, Deb and Rosemary.
