Priscilla Klein

Priscilla KleinPriscilla Klein, 94, of Dell Rapids passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at the Dells Nursing and Rehab Center. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Dell Rapids. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Kahler Funeral Home and the Christian Wake Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. with the Foresters Rosary prayed after the wake in the funeral home chapel.  Condolences may be left at www.kahlerfh.com.

Priscilla M. Klein was born on March 6, 1921 at Dell Rapids, SD, the daughter of John and Francis (Hansen) Klein. She grew up on the family farm and attended school. She graduated from St. Mary High School in 1938. She attended college at Notre Dame College in Mitchell, SD and received her teachers certificate. She taught in rural schools around Dell Rapids for many years. She taught at Dokstader School for eight years and DeVaney School for five years. She went to Sioux Falls College and received her Bachelors Degree. She then taught second grade at the Dell Rapids Elementary School until her retirement in 1986.

Priscilla was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Catholic Order of Foresters. She enjoyed gardening and doing volunteer work. She volunteered at Padres for many years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her four brothers, Clarence, Pete, Art and Bob and her sister, Matilda Gebhart.

She is survived by her two sisters, Mary Ann Klein and Frances Klein both of Dell Rapids and her numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Memorials may be directed to the DREA, Dell Rapids Education Association Scholarship Fund.
