Lois Mae (Bunkers) Schwebach

Lois Schwebach 2Lois Mae Schwebach, 89, of Dell Rapids died Thursday, June 23, 2016 in Sioux Falls at the home of her daughter. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 AM Monday, June 27, 2016 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Dell Rapids. Burial will be in the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be from 3-5:00 PM Sunday with a Wake Service at 5:00 PM at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Dell Rapids. On-line condolences may be left at Minnehaha Funeral Home.

Lois Mae Bunkers was born March 9, 1927 in Dell Rapids to parents Emil and Leona (Full) Bunkers. She grew up near Dell Rapids and attended St. Mary Grade School, graduated from St. Mary High School and then attended SDSU.

Lois married George M. Schwebach August 19, 1952 in Dell Rapids. She along with George owned and operated George’s Mens Wear and The Fitting Stool. George died December 21, 2008.

She enjoyed playing cards, building puzzles, and was an avid fan of the Minnesota Twins. She was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church and Altar Society.

Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Carol (Carl) Thomassen, Tea; Joan Schwebach, Sioux Falls; Emily (Tim) Murphy, Dell Rapids; Lee Ann Freshour, Coeur d’Alene, ID; Mark (Tami) Schwebach, Middleton, WI; Jim (Laurie) Schwebach, West Des Moines, IA; Grace (Rick) Hoil, Sioux Falls; her grandchildren, Liam, Brielle, Conner, Victoria, Evan, Justin, Nicole, Joseph, Chynna, Lindsey, Kyle, Eric, Brian, Rachael, Nathan, Brady, Maggie, Michael, Matt and Jennifer; her great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Nellie, Lucy, Riley, Braxton, Emma and Cedar; her brothers, Vince (Phyllis) Bunkers, Dell Rapids; Yvo (Stella) Bunkers, Dell Rapids; and Terry (Emily) Bunkers, Buckeye, AZ; and a sister in law, Monica (Eldyn) Streff, Overland Park, KS.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sons, Vince and twins John and Joseph, her brothers, Otto, Harold, and Melvin. Memorials maybe directed to Avera Hospice or the Dell Rapids Veterans Memorial Park.
