Lillian HanischLillian Mae Hanisch, 79, died Monday January 23, 2017 in Sioux Falls, SD. Funeral Services were held on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at First United Methodist Church, Sioux Falls. On-line condolences may be left at the George Boom Funeral Home website.

Lillian Mae Colwill, daughter of Irvin Ernest and Hazel Marie (Riley) Colwill, was born October 30, 1937 at Shindler, SD. As a young lady she moved with her family to Sioux Falls where she grew up and received her education. Lil was united in marriage with James A. “Jim” Hanisch on June 4, 1955 in Luverne, MN. Her twin sister, Lucille Mae, married Denny Reents, the same day in a joint ceremony. They even wore identical wedding dresses.

Survivors include her three children, Jim (Patti) Hanisch, Jr., Sioux Falls, SD, Colleen (Marty) Sterzinger, Ivanhoe, MN, Todd (Julie) Hanisch, Sioux Falls, SD; five grandchildren, Kristin (Alex) Hofkamp, Sioux Falls, SD, Kimberlee Hanisch-Squires (Phil Squires), Sioux Falls, SD, Chris Sterzinger, Heron Lake, MN, Alicia (Corey) Reker, Worthington, MN, April Hanisch, Sioux Falls, SD; three great grandsons, Michael and Daniel Hofkamp, James Squires; eight siblings, Roxy (Rae) Jensen, Sioux Falls, SD, Lucille (Denny) Reents, Sioux Falls, SD, Kittie Wade, Aberdeen, SD, Connie (Roger) Fods, Dell Rapids, SD, Ron (Edie) Colwill, Sioux Falls, SD, Dianne Burman, Sioux Falls, SD, Judy (Dan) Fink, Harrisburg, SD, Joan (George) Gardner, Sioux Falls, SD; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. Lil was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Jim who passed away on January 11, 2009.
