Faith (Scherff) Alberts

Faith AlbertsFaith B. Alberts, 74, of Dell Rapids, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. Her funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 10, 2017 in the Reformed Church, Dell Rapids. Interment will be in the Logan Reformed Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 7: 00 p.m. at Kahler Funeral Home on Sunday, April 9, 2017.  On-line condolences may be left at the Kahler Funeral Home website.

Faith was born on May 7, 1942 at Dell Rapids, the daughter of Henry and Beulah (Swanson) Scherff. She grew up in Trent and graduated as the valedictorian of her class from Trent High School. She then went to work for Warren Radio Supply in Sioux Falls. She married Merle Alberts on March 25, 1961 at the Lutheran Church of Dell Rapids. The couple made their home on a farm near Trent. In 1969, they moved to their farm between Dell Rapids and Jasper. Merle and Faith moved into Dell Rapids in 2007.

She was a member of the Reformed Church and Ladies Circle and was the secretary and treasurer of the Ladies Circle for over 19 years.

Her greatest love was her family and time spent with her family and friends especially her grandchildren.

Faith was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Hope Hegarty.

She is survived by her husband, Merle of Dell Rapids; her children, Kevin (Trudy) Alberts of Dell Rapids, Kathy (Jeff) McBrayer of Sioux Falls, Kimberly (John) Stych of Williamsburg, IA and Keith (Alissa) Alberts of Sioux Falls; her nine grandchildren, Andrew Alberts, Austin Alberts, Zach McBrayer, Josh (Ema) McBrayer, Samantha (Collin) Citrowske, Daniel Alberts, Aaron Alberts, Benjamin Alberts and Kenan Alberts; and her brother, Charles Scherff.
