Donna M. Anderson, 89, of Dell Rapids, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. In accordance with Donna’s wishes, a family graveside service will be held. www.kahlerfh.com

Donna Marie Madison was born on February 25, 1933 in LuVerne, MN. She grew up in Hills, MN where she attended school. She graduated from Hills High School in 1950. She then attended Sioux Valley Nursing School in Sioux Falls. She worked at the Veterans Hospital for four years until she married Donald Anderson in 1958. The couple later divorced. Donna moved to Watertown where she raised her children. Once her children were grown she went to work as a nurse at the Watertown Hospital. She retired from nursing in 1998. She moved to Dell Rapids in September of 2011 to be closer to her family.

She was a member of Fatih Christian Women’s Group. She enjoyed Sudoku, her plants and sewing.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents Vera and Joseph Madison; sisters, Marilyn Rommereim and Joan Helmberger; infant son, Danny Anderson; daughters, Darla Anderson and Dawn Burns; son, Donnie Anderson; and son-in-law, John Matthews.

She is survived by her daughter, Denise Matthews of Ward, CO; her son-in-law, Doug Burns of Baltic SD; her grandchildren; Jason Burns of Crooks, SD; Jenni (Ryan) Nuttall of Watertown, SD; Joe Matthews of Ward, CO and Luke Matthews of  Vancouver, WA; and her great-granddaughters Lydia and Lainey Nuttall.
