WAGNER, S.D. – Two Dell Rapids, S.D., people died in a one-vehicle crash on a gravel road two miles west and one-half mile north of Wagner on Sunday, Sept. 29.

Stephanie Jo Thompson, 32, was driving a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport Trac south on the gravel road. She lost control, and the vehicle entered the west ditch and rolled. Thompson was wearing a seatbelt. She was partially ejected from the vehicle and was dead at the scene.

A passenger in the vehicle, Derek Gavin Weston, 34, was not wearing a seatbelt. He was thrown from the vehicle and was dead at the scene.
