As per the family’s wishes, masks will be required, and social distancing will be practiced at the visitation, funeral, and luncheon.

Delores Ilene (Maseman) Nebben, was born July 29, 1925 to Joe and Pearl (Derdall) Maseman in Dell Rapids, SD, the first of 2 children. She came into this world at a whopping 13 lbs plus, one of the largest babies to be born at the Dell Rapids Hospital.   She attended school in Dell Rapids, graduating in 1944. “Dee” met Art Nebben at the Arkota Ballroom, and they enjoyed going to many barn dances, area dance halls, and the Dells Pavilion. They were married June 19, 1950 in Luverne. MN. They made their home north of Dell Rapids on the Maseman family farm where they raised three children. They were married for 64 years. Art passed away in 2014, and Dee continued to reside on the farm, in the same house for 95 years.

Dee worked as a telephone operator and many times spoke of how much she enjoyed that job. She worked as a waitress at the Dells Cafe, and then at Ben Franklin dime store, Coast to Coast Hardware and the Dells Bakery. She was a member of the Dell Rapids Lutheran Church, and the American Legion Auxiliary. The highlight of her life was her grandchildren and great grandchildren, following their adventures and watching them grow. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, mowing the acreage, bird watching, her flower gardens, and going for car rides in the afternoon with daughter Jan. She did word puzzles, played checkers, and attended Thursday night legion bingo. Her favorite treat was chocolate ice cream before bed. She enjoyed watching “The Price is Right “, and for her 94th birthday, her daughter Jan and grandson Peter with wife Sydney took her to the “Price is Right” show at the Washington Pavilion. Her name was called to “come on down” as a contestant, which was great fun for her.   She traveled with her daughter Jan to Hawaii, Branson, New Orleans, fall foliage trip to New England, and a rail tour across the Canadian Rockies. Yellowstone, Mississippi River cruise and northern Minnesota fishing trips were especially enjoyed with daughter Melanie and grandchildren Cody, Colt and Paige. She valued the friendship of her senior care giver Theresa. Dee was a generous, kind and giving person, and was always thinking of others.

Dee passed away Nov 7, 2020 with her children by her side. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Jay Nebben; and daughters: Jan Dybvig and Melanie Burggraff all of Dell Rapids. Five grandchildren: Cody, Colt (Tarah) of Dell Rapids, and Paige Burggraff of Miller, SD. Peter (Sydney) Nebben and Jenny Nebben of Dell Rapids.
