Only One Ward Needs Election for Dell Rapids City Council in April

After all the submitted petitions for Dell Rapids City Council were reviewed after the petition deadline on Friday, February 26th, only one ward will require a vote to elect city council members. Gary Haak is running unopposed in Ward 1. Mark Crisp (3 year seat) and Tom Earley (2 year seat) are running unopposed in Ward 2. Mike Geraets is running unopposed in Ward 3. A vote will be held for Ward 4 between incumbent Lee Burggraff and James Borchert.

The city election will be held on Tuesday, April 12th at the Dell Rapids Lutheran Church in coordination with the Dell Rapids School Board election. The ballot will also include the referendum for the re-zoning of the property at 608 E. 6th Street.

Voters took to the polls on Tuesday, April 9th, to select two new city council members, a member for Ward 1 and a member for Ward 4. Lee Burggraff and Gary Haak won their respective ward’s votes.

Tuesday, April 9th, Dell Rapids voters from Wards 1 and 4 will have the opportunity to go to the polls and cast their votes for current or new representation. For the ward 1 race, voters will decide who their representative on the Dell Rapids City Council will be between Gary Haak and Hubert Tool, both seeking their first term on the council. In Ward 4 the race is between incumbent Carrie Testerman and challenger Lee Burgraff. Voting takes place from 7:00 a.m. Tuesday through 7:00 p.m. at the Dell Rapids Fire Station.
