Alvin Anderson

Alvin Anderson, 105, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2014 at his daughter’s home in Byron, MN.

He was born January 4, 1909 at home in Moody County, SD to parents Nels and Anna (Nelson) Anderson. He grew up and lived most of his life in the area. Alvin married LaVerne Fodness July 26, 1945 in Dell Rapids, SD. The couple farmed east of Trent until 1996 when they moved into Dell Rapids and later to Sioux Falls.

After his wife’s death in 2007, he lived in Flandreau with his son, Alvin, and daughter-in-law, Barbie, and then into assisted living. He moved into his daughter Linda’s home in June 2013. Alvin is survived by sons, Alvin Anderson, Jr. and his wife Barbie, Flandreau, SD; Ronnie Anderson and his wife Robyn, Sioux Falls, SD; daughter Linda and her husband Denny Austin, Byron, MN; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Alvin was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and brother Francis. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau with burial in Nelson Cemetery, rural Trent.  www.skrochfc.com
