Roberta M. Hansen, 74, of Dell Rapids, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at the Dells Nursing and Rehab Center in Dell Rapids. Her Memorial Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2017 in St. Mary Catholic Church, Dell Rapids. Visitation with the family present will be from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. with a Christian Wake Service beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Kahler Funeral Home on Friday, February 24, 2017. Roberta Marie Theuninck was born on February 26, 1942 in Marshall, MN, the daughter of Robert and Margaret (Meulebroeck) Theuninck. She grew up on a farm outside of Marshall, MN. She attended Catholic school at Central High School in Marshall graduating in 1960. She then attended business school in Minneapolis. She moved back to Marshall, MN and married Donald Miller. The couple made their home in Marshall. To this union four children were born. They later divorced and Roberta moved to Dell Rapids in 1975. She married Tom Hansen in 1984. The couple made their home on a farm east of Dell Rapids. She held many different jobs in the Dell Rapids community, retiring from Lewis Drug in 2016.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and Altar Society and volunteered at Padre’s Thrift Store.
Family was very important to Roberta. She loved spending time with her children, grandkids, and siblings. She made great effort to attend as many of their activities as possible. She enjoyed traveling, adventuring to Missouri, Tennessee, Colorado, Nevada, Arizona, Texas, Paris, and Belgium, to list a few. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends; always up for a drop-by visit, a cup of coffee and a chat, going out for a bite to eat, or a trip to the casino. She and Tom shared a passion for gardening and would happily share their harvest with others.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Debra.
Roberta is survived by her husband, Tom Hansen of Dell Rapids; her sons, Todd Miller and Keith (Cheryl) Miller both of Marshall, MN; her daughter, Tamara (Daniel) Magaard of St. Cloud, MN; her stepsons, Thomas Hansen of New York, NY and Stuart Hansen of Denver, CO; her stepdaughter, JoAnn Hansen of Denver, CO; her eight granddaughters, Danielle Magaard, Ashley Magaard, Kendra Magaard, Taylor (Hayden) McKittrick, Billie Miller, Lydia Magaard, Logan Miller, and Elli Magaard; her three brothers, Joe Theuninck of Marshall, MN, Don (Mary “Buff”) Theuninck of Hugo, MN and Duane (Deb) Theuninck of Canyon, TX and her sister, Marlene Polejewski of Minneota, MN.
