Richard L. Gruhlke, 54, died Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at his residence in Sioux Falls, SD of natural causes.
A visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Thursday, August 15, 2013, at Miller West Funeral Chapel, 6200 W. 41st St., with a Masonic Service at 7:00 PM. Richard Lynn Gruhlke, the son of Alan and Alice (Ross) Gruhlke was born November 8, 1958, in Sioux Falls, SD. He graduated from Washington High School in 1977, and went on to earn a degree in Automotive Mechanics from Southeast Technical Institute in Sioux Falls.
On May 20, 1983, Richard was united in marriage with Christi Pesicka in Sioux Falls, SD. He was employed at Love’s Truck Stop.
Richard was a member of the Masonic Lodge Trinity #200 and the El Riad Shrine in Sioux Falls. Within the Shrine, he was a member of the Clowns and was the secretary for the Provosts. Richard loved camping and being outdoors with his family and friends.
Grateful for having shared his life are one son, Heath Gruhlke and his fiancé, Autumn Christensen, of Sioux Falls; one daughter, Heather Morris and her husband, Jake, of Dell Rapids, SD; five grandchildren, Jacob, Becca, and Brihannah Gruhlke, and Grace and Jacob Morris; his father, Alan Gruhlke of Sioux Falls; one brother, Michael Gruhlke of Sioux Falls; one sister, Peggy Zickrick and her husband, Rodney, of Sioux Falls; one sister-in-law, Deb Gruhlke of Sioux Falls; his former spouse, Christi Pesicka of Hills, MN; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice on January 30, 2013; and a brother, Randy Gruhlke.
