NewDRLogoThe 8th Annual Menno Band Day was held on Friday, September 26th, in Menno.  Both the Dell Rapids Quarrier and Dell Rapids St Mary Cardinal marching bands participated in the event.  18 high school and middle school bands participated in the event broken into three different divisions.

Estelline, Tripp-Delmont, Scotland, Parker, Howard and Marion competed in the “C” Division.  Howard won the division with Scotland placing second.

Freeman, Woonsocket/Sanborn Central, Dell Rapids St Mary, Platte-Geddes, and Chester competed in the “B” Division.  Platte-Geddes placed first, and Chester finished second.

Dell Rapids, Dakota Valley, Tea Area, Tri-Valley, and West Central competed in the “A” Division.  West Central placed first.  Tea Area was second, and Dell Rapids finished third.  Tea Area also picked up the “Outstanding Drum Major” Award, but Dell Rapids Drum Major Josh Benda was just one point away from winning the award for himself and Dell Rapids.

Host band Menno also performed in the Menno Band Day, and the featured college band for this year was the Northern State University Marching Wolves from Aberdeen.
