Show off your Pumpkin Decorating/Carving Skills!!
The Dell Rapids Chamber of Commerce and Big Sioux Media want you to show off your pumpkin decorating or carving skills! We are putting together a contest for the best painted and carved pumpkin this year. There will be two different categories: Painted/Decorated and Carved. We’ll have a first and second place winners in each category. First place in each category will win a package worth approximately $100, and second place in each category will win a prize worth approximately $50. Prizes will be from local businesses in Dell Rapids.
How to enter:
- Email us a photo of your carved or decorated pumpkin to office@dellrapidschamber.com or admin@bigsiouxmedia.com. Please include the artist in the photo. We ask for the artist in the photo next to their pumpkin to avoid downloaded images from the internet. Also please include your name and valid email address so we can contact the winner. When displaying the pumpkins, we’ll crop the picture to show just the pumpkin.
- Entries must be received by 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 25th.
How the winner will be chosen:
- The Dell Rapids Chamber of Commerce and Big Sioux Media will have a display of the submitted decorated and carved pumpkins at the Downtown Trick or Treat event on Friday, October 26th.
- Parents and children will be able to vote for their favorite pumpkins (carved and painted/decorated) during the event.
- The top two pumpkins from each category with the most votes will be announced at the end of the event and the top 2 pumpkins in each category will win a prize!
Terms and Conditions:
- Family members can use the same email, but only one entry per person please. If sending multiple entries from the same email address, please clearly indicate the artist’s name to the correct photo.
- By submitting a photo to admin@bigsiouxmedia.com or office@dellrapidschamber.com for the contest, you give Big Sioux Media and the Dell Rapids Chamber of Commerce permission to post the picture for the voting process.
- Big Sioux Media and the Dell Rapids Chamber of Commerce will not post any names or pictures of the artist when displaying the pumpkins during the voting process.
- Big Sioux Media and the Dell Rapids Chamber of Commerce will only post the names along with the photo when announcing the winner.
