Murray C. Sandro, 54, of Sioux Falls, passed away suddenly on Friday, August 31, 2012. His funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at the Lutheran Church of Dell Rapids Chapel. Murray C. Sandro was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, on October 7, 1957, the son of Clayton and Luella Sandro. He grew up on a farm in the Trent area. He was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church of Dell Rapids and was confirmed in 1972. He attended and graduated from Dell Rapids High School in 1975. He attended the University of South Dakota. He worked for Colman Electric and John Morells. In January of 1982, he became employed by Citbank. Murray held various positions within Citibank and was currently a Security Services Investigator. In January of 2012, he had served Citibank for 30 years.
In 1979, Murray met the love of his life, Julie Gilmore. They were married on October 16, 1982 at the Lutheran Church of Dell Rapids. They farmed on the home place near Trent and then moved to Sioux Falls in December of 1984. Murray and Julie enjoyed several traveling adventures including Branson, MO, Yellowstone National Park, Wisconsin, Colorado, two Carnival Cruises, and a trip to the southern tip of Mexico.
His hobbies included collecting farm toys, remote control vehicles, and photography. He won an award for his photography for the State of South Dakota. He enjoyed camping, especially visiting with friends and family around the campfire. As always attired in camouflage.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Julie of Sioux Falls; his mother, Luella Sandro of Dell Rapids, his sister, Joni (Pete) Bunce of Casper, WY; his mother-in-law, Lorrayne Montecuollo of Sioux Falls; his brother-in-law, Jeff (Lynn) Gilmore of Renner and his nieces and nephews, Caleb and Whitney Bunce of Casper, WY and Carrie (Nate) Runt of Harrisburg and Nathan (Kim) Gilmore of Las Vegas, NV.
Murray was preceded in death by his father, Clayton Sandro and his grandparents.
