January 30, 2013 by Matt Larson, Big Sioux Media

A Memorial visitation and Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2013 in the Kahler Funeral Home Chapel. The family will be present from 2 to 4 p.m. and the service will begin at 4:00 p.m.

Mary Louise Evans was born to Leon and Joyce (Rave) Evans of rural Garretson on February 12, 1958. Mary passed away at United Hospital in St. Paul, MN on January 23, 2013. She graduated from Dell Rapids Public School in 1976, earned her BS Degree from USD and completed her Master’s Degree at St. Mary’s University in Minneapolis.

She was a well respected 30 year practitioner in her field of Psychotherapy who teamed up in later years with her therapy dog, Sadie, an English Bulldog. In 1973, Mary was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes, sometimes referred to as Type 1 Diabetes, which changed her life forever. In 1987 a wonderful life-change occurred when she and Mark Nuebel were married. Mark was her staunch helpmate and loyal champion. Together, they held the disease at bay for 25 years.

In addition to Mark of Newport, MN, she is survived by her parents of Dell Rapids; her brother, Bill and his wife, Gayla of Dell Rapids; her brother, Jim and his wife, Lynne of Wentworth, SD; Niece, Billie Rothenberger and her husband, Ryan of Sioux Falls ; Nephews, Justin Evans and his wife, Jessica of Dell Rapids, and Nick Evans of Blair, NE; her great-nieces, Rylie and Alexa Rothenberger and her great -nephews, Ryler, Kale, and Breck Evans. Mary enjoyed reading, traveling, and all kinds of fresh cut flowers. In lieu of flowers at this time, however, her wish was that undesignated memorials be directed to the: CFF Dakotas Office, P.O. Box 5258, Fargo, ND 58105
