Marjorie Kathryn (Park) Myhres, former Chester resident, died on May 16, 2013, at Lakeview Nursing Center in Gulfport, Miss. Funeral services were held in Biloxi, Miss.
Graveside services will be held at St. Joseph The Workman Catholic Church in rural Colton immediately following the 9 a.m. Mass on Tues., July 23. All are invited to lunch and fellowship at the St. Joseph Church Hall after the committal service.
Marjorie Park was born on March 10, 1932, at Chester to Henry and Kathryn Park. She graduated from Chester High School in 1950 and moved to Biloxi in 1952. She was a nurse’s aide who had worked at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport, cared for elderly patients in their homes, and was employed for more than 10 years at Azalea Manor Nursing Home in Gulfport.
She was a resident of Gulfport since the 1980s and a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Biloxi for more than 50 years.
Survivors include four daughters, Susan (Jerry) Griggs of Ocean Springs, Miss., Melinda (Walter) Peat of Mandeville, La., Becky (Pat) Delana of Boise, Idaho, and Gina (Mark) Otto of Gulfport, Miss.; four sons, Steve and Mike (Cecilia), both of Biloxi, Miss., John of Gulfport, and Brian (Suzy) of Saucier, Miss.; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Muriel (the late Bill) Van Dam of Dell Rapids, and Mary Ann (Darrell) Sorenson of Omaha, Neb.; and two brothers, Henry (Kathy) Park Jr. of Chester, and James (Betty) Park of Colman.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Avis Klamm.
